Privacy Policy
Last updated 2 October 2026
This explains what personal information Loftline collects, why, who sees it and what your choices are. The controller of your data is the Loftline team, contact loftlineofficial@gmail.com. We follow the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, and apply the same care to players everywhere.
What we collect and why
| Information | Why we need it |
|---|---|
| Email address, username, password (stored only as a one-way hash) | To run your account, sign you in, send verification and password-reset emails. |
| Date of birth | To make sure you are 18 or over. We store it with your account. |
| Avatar, rooms, items, coins and gems, friends and followers, quests, badges, streaks, guestbook notes, your profile | To provide the game. |
| Direct messages | To deliver them to the person you wrote to. We keep them so you can read them again. Moderators see recent messages if you report a conversation. For serious safety reports (for example child safety, sexual contact or threats) they may also review the private messages the reported person recently sent, and senior staff can open a conversation when safety needs it. Each of those looks is recorded in an audit log with a reason. |
| Gallery photos, with their caption, likes and the room name | To show them in your gallery and the photo feed. Only pictures taken with the game's own photo mode are meant to be posted. Other logged-in players can see them, you can delete a photo at any time (it is removed from our storage), and photos that are reported are reviewed by moderators. They go when you delete your account. |
| Reports (including the chat evidence attached to them), warnings, mutes, bans, appeals and a moderation log | To keep Loftline safe. Reports about you may be kept for safety even if you delete your account. |
| Device identifier and network (IP) address | To stop banned people returning, limit abuse and fraud, and keep accounts secure. Guests are identified this way too. |
| Purchase records (what you bought, amount, date and Stripe's reference) | To give you what you bought, handle refunds and meet accounting rules. |
| Settings on your device (theme, sound, graphics, notifications, session) | Stored in your browser or app on your device, so Loftline remembers your choices. |
Public room chat is shown to the others in the room. We keep the most recent few thousand lines (what was said, who said it and where) for a short while so that moderators can review a report; older lines are deleted automatically. Voice chat goes directly between players and is not recorded by us.
The credit-card age check
To confirm you are an adult we may ask you to add a credit card through Stripe. We do not charge it, and we never see or store the card number. Stripe tells us whether it is a credit card, and we keep only a one-way scrambled code from the card so the same card cannot verify lots of accounts. The card is then removed from Stripe's saved cards.
Who else sees your information
- Stripe processes payments and the age check, under its own privacy policy.
- Our email provider delivers the messages we send you (verification, password reset).
- Our hosting provider stores the game's data on its servers in the EU.
- Other players see your username, avatar, level, badges, rooms and what you say in rooms. If you use voice chat, the other players' devices connect to yours and can see your network address, unless we route the audio through a relay.
- We share information with the police or other authorities only where the law requires it, or to protect someone from serious harm. We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.
How long we keep it
- Your account information is kept while your account is open. When you delete your account in Settings, we delete your account, avatar, items and messages. We may keep reports and moderation records about you, and purchase and accounting records, for as long as safety and the law need.
- Backups of the game's data are kept for about 14 days and then deleted.
- Sign-in sessions expire after 30 days.
Your rights
You can ask us to see, correct, delete, restrict or send you a copy of your information, and to stop certain uses. You can delete your account yourself in Settings. For anything else, email loftlineofficial@gmail.com and we will answer within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or the regulator where you live.
Our legal reasons
We use your information to carry out our agreement with you (running your account and the game), for our legitimate interests in keeping Loftline safe and secure, to meet legal duties (age checks, accounting) and, where we ask, with your consent (for example optional notifications, which you can turn off).
Security
Passwords are hashed, connections are encrypted, and staff access is limited to what moderators need. No system is perfect: if something happens that puts your information at risk, we will tell you and the regulator as the law requires.
Children
Loftline is not for anyone under 18. If you think a child is using it, please tell us at loftlineofficial@gmail.com and we will remove them.
Changes
If we change this policy in an important way we will tell you in the game or by email.
